Accommodation Overview
The villa sits on the border of Southern Tuscany surrounded by acres of olives groves, fruit orchards and country grounds. Inside there are five, spacious double bedrooms (one can be made up as a twin room) and five full bathrooms. One of the bedrooms (and bathrooms) are located in a detached suite situated 10 metres from the main house near the swimming pool. It's perfect for accompanying grandparents or a child-free couple. Back in the main house there a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine and Nespresso machine), two dining areas and two spacious living rooms with comfortable sofas, satellite TV and working fireplace. Outside the house has an outdoor dining area, private infinity pool and pretty covered pergola. The views over the surrounding countryside offer an idyllic backdrop to a relaxing, family holiday. The bilingual villa concierge can arrange anything from bike hire and horse riding to wine and cheese tours and cookery lessons.
Local Area
The medieval walled village of Paciano is around 20 minutes away on foot (mainly flat) and is acclaimed as one of the top ten villages in Italy for its idyllic setting and quality of life. There are several superb restaurants, including the family favourite for pizza and pasta, L’Oca Braciata. There are more shops in the small town of Chiusi Chianciano (approx. 7 miles) and Cortona (approx.16 miles) plus the buzzing Umbrian capital, Perugia is only half an hour’s drive (22 miles). Montepulciano (19 miles) has a great market on the second weekend of the month and this historic hill town is also world famous for its fine red wines. Assisi (29 miles) is one of the region’s biggest tourist destinations, thanks to the magnificent basilica, but families might prefer to escape the hoards and head for the beaches, watersports and cruises at Lake Trasimeno (6 miles). The train station at nearby Chiusi (7miles) has parking and fast trains to Rome (1hr), Florence and Siena. The airport at Perugia is within 45mins drive, whilst Florence, Rome and Pisa are under 2hrs away.
