Pretty Dorset Cottage with Outdoor Pool & Village Pub
This newly renovated 19th century cottage is one of four sharing a heated outdoor pool and acres of country gardens a short drive from the pretty towns of Dorchester and Sherborne and within 30 minutes of the many charming seaside towns along the Dorset coast. The cottage itself has its own private patio with BBQ leading on to the communal grounds and 'secret gate' to the village pub, which has a lovely beer garden and a reputation for good food and drink. Local Area
Peace and tranquillity rule the day at Dominey’s Yard, with beautifully landscaped gardens but a 'secret gate' leads to a family friendly village pub with beer garden, good reputation for food and a mini herd of pygmy goats that are always a huge hit with animal lovers! Set in the pretty village of Buckland Newton there is a well stocked village shop, large play area and playing field within a 10 min stroll down the country lane. Slightly further a field within a short drive are Sherborne and Dorchester. The former is a beautiful and historic market town, home to Sherborne Abbey, Castle (the former home of Sir Walter Raleigh) and Gardens. The town itself has a wide range of individually owned shops, boutiques and antique shops to while away the afternoon. Dorchester is the county town with attraction including the Roman Town House and Amphitheatre. Milton Abbas the epitome of a Dorset village is also within a short drive and boasts dozens of beautiful thatched cob cottages plus a pub and tea rooms serving delicious food. Weymouth with its beautiful sandy beach is just 30 mins drive and the Jurassic coast is also within easy reach.
Anything else guests should know?
Please note: This cottage retains its original ‘Dorset winder’ staircase to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. This staircase is steeper and narrower than a modern staircase, so care must be taken and the cottage may not be suitable for some guests with more limited mobility. The cottage is set in the middle of the row of 4 terrace cottages. Check-in from 16.00 Check-out by 10.00
